SIX STYLISH & AFFORDABLE SOFA BEDS

We bought this house with a guest room in mind, but as time goes on and understanding the practical everyday needs of our house, the idea of having a whole bed set up 24-7 in our downstairs bedroom/office just doesn’t make sense. And with the holidays quickly approaching and family and friends coming out to visit us more, we have been working on creating a comfortable space for overnight guests. So we started researching sofa sleepers to make the office a usable room by day and a comfortable get-away by night.

Since our house is older and the rooms are on the smaller side, we have been in search of a smaller footprint sofa bed that also fits our style and wont break the bank. After combing through what seems like hundreds of outrageously, ugly, and poor reviewed sleepers for thousands of dollars (yeah, no thanks - we have windows we want to replace!), I have rounded up six stylish yet affordable sleeper sofas!

Kiko Futon Sofa, West Elm $999
Karter Sleeper Sofa, Urban Outfitters $699
Mid Century Futon Sofa, West Elm $999
Bella Sofa Sleeper, Urban Outfitters $600
Trevor Sofa Sleeper, Overstock $600
London Sofa Sleeper, Living Spaces $700

SIX RAIN BOOTS FOR THE MINIMALIST

Rain season has officially underway in Portland and if you’re anything like me, you wear a lot of black and just one pair of any boot just will not do. Rain boots can sometimes come off childish and overly complicated with patterns, straps, and can be frumpy. So, I have rounded up six rain boots for the minimalist that will keep your feet dry, warm, and happy while keeping any lady feeling cute, can be worn in the office, walking the dog, or even with a holiday dress.

Sam Edleman Tinsley Rain Boot $55
Jeffery Campbell Hurricane Rain Boot $60
Hunter Classic Short Rain Boot $140
Hunter Classic Tall Rain Boot $150
Madewell Chelsea Rain Boot $68
Chooka Classic Rain Duck Boot $80

VALENTINES DAY DINNER

Going out to eat on Valentines Day is for suckers. Romance is in the kitchen. I don't know about you guys, but staying in and cooking with (or even better, him cooking for me) is what it's all about. Since my first Valentines Day with Danny (this will be our 8th!), he has always made us his Chicken Tortilla Soup. It's so special, and it's one of my favorite traditions together.
So, I have rounded up a couple of dinner ideas for all kinds of lovers. And you get to eat in pajamas, or be naked — if you're into that kind of thing.

For the Meat Eaters - Asian Braised Shortribs : Beyond Sweet and Savory
For the Fishies - Garlic Butter Tuscan Salmon : Cafe Delights
For the Vegetarians - Roasted Sweet Potatoes with Quinoa & Spinach : Green Valley Kitchen
For the Vegans - Creamy Coconut Lentil Curry : The Endless Meal
For the Paleos - Chicken Kofta Skewers : Tasty-Yummies
For the Whole 30s - Spicy Southwest Stuffed Peppers : Jar of Lemons

Happy future Valentines Day, lovers. xo
